Hear and Rejoice!

At one time or another, we are all afflicted. We all face troubles. Isn’t it refreshing to know that God offers healing and restoration to anyone who feels afflicted or oppressed? In these verses of Psalm 34, David reminds us that healing is not found in ourselves. We don’t bring ourselves to a state of true joy. As good as positive thinking is, we often find that it really isn’t enough to restore us to peace and true joyfulness. Instead, it is God that brings healing and joy when we turn and listen to Him.

“I will praise the LORD at all times; my mouth will continually praise him.I will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice!Glorify the LORD with me! Let us exalt his name together!”Psalm 34:1-3
